Reuters
Tuesday, December 12, 2006; 4:22 AM

 What is the Issue:

The issue is that a suicide bomber killed 47 people in Baghdad on Tuesday before President George W. Bush was to review his unpopular iraq policy in a video teleconference with U.S. military commanders in Iraq. the police said 148 people were wounded from that blast.

Who is Involved:

The people who were injured and killed were involved

The police and military commanders in iraq are involved

The president George W. Bush was involved

 Who is affected and how:

The people who shot the suicide bomb is affected because the main point of this problem is because is the bomb and the people who were killed and injured are affected because they were killed by the bomb.

What would you do if you were directly involved:

I would try to find out where the bomb came from and ask neighbors to donate to the injured people and the people who lost their homes or I can try to ask the president to be a little more responsible and careful so many people don’t get injured or die by having a little thing that can sense a bomb coming from about 5 miles away.

Block E

Reflection

Last class I learned about The conquest of Songhai by morocco, the Kingdom of Mali under mansa musa, how the Songhai Empire Grew to Greatness, Iron Technology’s Impact on West Africa, and The Kingdom of Gold.

What said on my notes are that Al-Mansur believed that if he controlled the trading, with the money, he wanted to buy expensive and strong equipments for the army after Songhai attacked Morocco in the 1580’s. In the 1586, salt began offensive salt mines the king had forbidden people to trade in the salt mine at Taghaza.

Mali under Mansa Musa, Mansa Musa brought gold for map makers because Mansa Musa wanted them to put Mali on the map. The Map Makers included Mali and Mansa Musa was confident. They built schools throughout Mali to read, write in Arabic and they divided territories.

How Songhai Empire grew greatness, Songhai began to rise and gained independence from Mali by the princes Ali, Gao, and Sukayman. Askia helped Songhai take control of the Niger River. Songhai had a strong government, social systems, free people working in farms, Center of learning and because of that, Songhai attracted people from other countries.

Before Iron was made in the West Africa, for millions of years, the people of west Africa used spears, arrows and harpoons whish were make out of banes and stones fixed to sticks for spears and arrows. The use of those equipments, the West Africans caught birds, insects, and planted plants like berries. Hunters killed more animals because of good equipments. The food supply continuously grew; houses and settlements became permanent and grew more crops. Trade began to develop, black-smiths made more tools and villages and towns became cities. The Nok use Iron Technology After 500 B.C.: They dug rocks, after it is smashed to little pieces. The iron ore from the rock is melted on top of the fire to make shapes, and when the iron ore is nice and warm, they beat it with a hammer to make it sharp and pointy.

The Kingdom or gold, Ghana. We did a play about Ghana and it was very amazing! People came about thousands of miles to trade gold and salt. The king controls the trade and the north brought salt for gold and the Wangarians traded gold for salt.

I learned many things from the presentation last class, I learned that almost all the challenges of the contry counts the GDP per capita. My GDP per capita is only $600 and that was the second last in the list of GDP per capita. When I heard michael presentation kuwait, it was really interesting because they make alot of money out of oil and Kuwait and Iraq is fighting because of the land that Kuwait has, it has alot of oil products. I found surprising that some of the people made there presentation really short like less that 30seconds that counts me. It was really shocking when hyun Ju presented, 34.9% of the population in Nambia lives on $1 per day and 55.8% live on $2 per day but compared to mine, 81% of Gaza Strip lived on $1 each day and 29% lives on $2 each day.

Reflection

What did you learn from this task?

I learnt how to use Google earth. I

learned how to make the writing bold,

colorful, and to make breaks. It was really

confusing but after a while I got used to it. I

learned that Google earth is a Application

related to geography and is very helpful. I

learned how to make a thumb tack too and

change the picture on there, which was

really easy.

Did find this task difficult or easy? Why.
I found it difficult to make all the writing bold, color code, breaking, and making all the HTMLs because you had to write it like this ” and end it like this “. It took me 1 hour of this class to do the whole thing. But I found some really easy like writing the facts and making bold, colorful, and breaking was quite fun.
What else would u like to learn about creating Google Earth?
I want to learn how to make it easier to make the writings bold, colorful, and breaking and adding font like italic.
Add anything else that u are thinking in relation to this project.
I like how Google earth has all the countries, the labels, close ups, and changing to north, east, west and south. It was really neat how they did it. But I couldn’t really find my country; it took me like 10 minutes.
List 3 challenges that your country has.
My country’s first challenge is the GDP per capita, it was only like $600 or something which was the second last on the list, but it was possible because Gaza Strip’s region is Africa. The second Challenge is the % of poverty. It is only like 81% of Gaza strip is under poverty line, I felt so sad for them. And the last one is literacy, 91% of the people could read or write that was amazing!
Gaza Strip’s 3 Challenges
Gaza Strip’s Challenges are very poor. The first challenge is the GDP per Capita, it is only $600, but that is possible because Gaza Strip’s region is Africa.
The Second challenge is the percentage of poverty, 81% percent of Gaza Strip lives in poverty! Only 29% percent can live well.

I leared that physical geogrphy is about climate like tornatoes, hurricanes or earthquake kind of stuff. And I learned that human science is about envirment, animals, military, and alkinds of other things that are related to this. The greeks were the first people to discover geography. They called it geogrphy because the words Ge or gaea, both meaning “earth”, and graphein means”to describe” or “to write” is the life on earth, including humans and animals.
